Gary Weyandt is an artist who utilizes hand-drawn lines and a mix of traditional and digital coloring methods to build characters and the worlds they inhabit. Weyandt believes that elements of world-building should trump elements of design as reality is ugly and so too is a believable fantasy. 

 

Weyandt Received his Bachelor's Degree from Penn State in 2020 where he gained experience in many mediums including digital, painting, stone carving, and woodworking. Weyandt believes in the merging of digital and traditional media. When working digitally Weyandt implements his knowledge of traditional techniques. Even when working in a more traditional medium Weyandt manages to implement digital media in his process. For example, Weyandt will use digitally edited stencils to apply line work to canvas before painting. Recently, Weyandt has more deeply explored Sculpey as an illustrative tool.
